Reproductive Freedom Takes Center Stage as Advocates Underscore Stakes of 2024 Election on Night Three of the Democratic National Convention

Advocates and leaders highlight Vice President Harris’s promise to defend and expand reproductive freedoms

CHICAGO – On night three of the Democratic National Convention, reproductive freedom took center stage as healthcare providers, advocates, and leaders highlighted their support for Vice President Harris through speeches and video features.

Leaders in the reproductive rights movement, Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All; Alexis McGill Johnson, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood; Cecile Richards, former President of Planned Parenthood; and Jessica Mackler, President of EMILYs List, reminded voters that reproductive care is health care, and it’s a winning issue. Each of these leaders share Vice President Harris and Governor Walz’s commitment to defending and restoring reproductive freedom throughout the country.

Throughout the convention, the American people will also hear stories from voices across the country, underscoring the critical stakes of this election for reproductive freedom. Tonight’s program featured everyday American women sharing their support for the Harris-Walz ticket and the freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies.
