On Monday night, President Joe Biden will take the convention stage to make the case for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz and highlight the stakes of the election for all Americans. Dr. Jill Biden will also deliver remarks on Monday night.
In addition to highlighting the Harris-Walz vision for the future and the stakes of this election, the successes of the Biden-Harris Administration will be front and center on Monday and throughout the week: successfully overcoming a once in a century pandemic, transforming an economy that was flat on its back to the strongest economy in the world, defending democracy at home and abroad, and restoring decency and dignity to the White House.
At the 2024 Democratic National Convention, Democrats will celebrate these achievements, rally around our nominees, and chart a path for the future.

Biden’s aides said the president will use his remarks to deliver the argument for why he believes Harris must replace him and defeat Trump, whom he says is a threat to democracy. Speakers at the convention are expected to make reference to Biden’s accomplishments, from helping lead the country out of the COVID-19 pandemic to winning passage of major infrastructure, climate and health care investments.

Tim Walz, the next vice president. “After saving democracy in 2020, President Biden is determined to defeat the threat to democracy posed by Donald Trump, who says he would terminate the constitution and be a dictator on day one,” Biden aides said.

She also lent her platform to many of the administration’s broader efforts, including a coronavirus vaccine campaign, and much of her time was spent on the campaign trail and at fund-raising events in support of her husband’s re-election effort

Organizers of the convention would work to recognize the president’s legacy throughout the week. Delegates will receive goody bags in which officials with the United Center, the host venue, included coffee beans for a “cup of Joe” as a tribute to Mr. Biden.
