Democratic National Convention Announces First-Ever Creator Platform

Creators will get a front row seat to history

CHICAGO – Today, the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced the first-ever Creator Platform to be built directly on the convention floor, giving content creators a front row seat to history. The Creator Platform will function similarly to the Network Platforms utilized by the major television networks, carving out designated space for creators to capture 360 degree content of the convention hall, conduct interviews with delegates and other Democratic voices on the convention floor, and share the convention experience with their audiences.

“As the media landscape continues evolving, we’re building a convention that meets Americans where they are by giving content creators a front row seat to history,” said Alex Hornbrook, DNCC Executive Director. “The energy and enthusiasm inside of our convention hall will be electric, and by granting content creators access to capture the convention experience up close, we’re going to harness that energy, bring it out to the American people, and turn it back into momentum for the Harris-Walz ticket.”

“This election is about fighting for a future where everyone can get ahead and that starts with letting the American people take part in this critical part of the democratic process,” said Olivia Julianna, a content creator who will be covering the convention. “There’s a groundswell of grassroots support building behind the Harris-Walz ticket, and I’m excited to experience it up close during the convention and bring it out to viewers across the country.”

The media and information landscape has transformed since the last in-person convention, and as part of Democrats’ work to reach the American people where they are, the convention team has credentialed more than 200 creators to cover the convention. Throughout the four nights of convention programming, select content creators will have access to the Creator Platform, giving them a historic level of access where they will be able to capture content and bring the experience of the convention out to audiences around the country.
